What do you do if you get COVID-19 overseas and can’t get back home for six weeks (thanks to the ridiculous regulations laid out by the Hong Kong government)? You travel of course! I discovered I had COVID-19 in Thailand and, after suffering through an uncomfortable week or so of flu-like symptoms, I was ready to get out and see the world again. While hanging out in Chiang Mai, I made a plan to explore towns further north in Thailand before jumping over to Cambodia. I had visited Angkor Wat/Siem Reap as well as Phnom Penh on a previous trip, but I was keen to see what the south of the country had to offer.
